This beautifully hand crafted charcuterie/serving board is made from a very unique Elm burl, and mixed with black epoxy. The board is finished with a hand rubbed 100% food safe finish, using our Bespoke Board Butter, which consists of food grade mineral oil, organic food grade beeswax, and organic food grade carnauba wax. This listing contains pictures of the exact board you will receive, as these are custom made one-of-a-kind pieces. The approximate dimensions of this piece are 23.75 x 11.5 x 1 inches.
Unlike ceramic or plastic cutting boards, wooden boards do require maintenance over time. Washing any cutting board or serving board after each use with simple soap and hot water is always needed regardless of material, but wood requires oiling to stay protected and supple. Thankfully this only takes a few minutes of time, and our step by step guide to Cutting & Serving Board Maintenance can be found here. Do not soak wooden boards or expose them to high heat for an extended period of time, as this may cause wood to warp. We like to rinse them off and then towel dry and let stand upright on end against the wall to allow air to circulate freely and evenly around the board.
Each new cutting board or serving board will also come with a 2oz sample container of our Bespoke Board Butter, which you can use to help maintain the board. This penetrating blend of oil and wax will help condition the wood, and is an essential step for long term cutting board care. More can easily be ordered from our online shop as needed.
